For Tortuga, every client is different in terms of the investment portfolio, the fees and follow ups for collections. But what always remained the same was the difficulty of staying on top of payments for commissions. We tried various set-ups to try and minimise time spent on this, but found it very difficult.
As the business grew and our small team got busier, it became more difficult. At Tortuga, we always had an idea of where the business was but access to accurate financial information was difficult. We kept searching for solutions, as keeping the cash flow up to the minute had become exhausting.
Now we can see up-to-the-minute information with regard to our cash flow, sales performance and other expenses. Slate helps us get a broader look. It also gives us safety, in knowing where we stand and if a few payments don’t come in time, we know we are covered looking at other alternatives. It really has helped manage collections and cash more efficiently, and allowed us to focus on other areas that are critical for our growth.
